KVRB – Vero Beach: CJ Cannons

Update: September 5, 2024

A Nice Breakfast at CJ Cannons

I got to visit CJ Cannons recently as a “mentor pilot” – a role where I ride in a complex aircraft in the right seat, because the left seat pilot, although competent, does not have the hours required by the insurance policy.

In this case I was in a King Air B100 with Danny Brescia, a full time employee of the owners, but needed a few more hours in the aircraft to be turned loose on his own. On this particular day we took a group down to Vero Beach for a few hours, so we got to enjoy breakfast on the company credit card. That’s why there is no “PIREP” for this visit.

Here are some photos from our visit.

Not sure why Danny was dancing for the camera

Entrance to the restaurant

It’s weird in a Garrett engine plane, taxiing with the Prop levers in the “feathered” position. Ask me about it some time and I can explain.

I hadn’t seen a SIMCOM checklist in quite some time for a B100 so I snagged a picture.

Previous Visit w/Mike Harding

March 22, 2022

Finally made it to CJ Cannon’s with Mike Harding in his trusty Sierra. Been back at least once since as well. It is not only great for lunch and dinner, but a spectacular breakfast as well. Prices are affordable and parking is easy next tor at Sun Vero Beach Air Services (Sun VBAS).

Nice comfy interior
Very close to the Piper Factory
Didn’t get her name but she was super friendly and very helpful
Mike and I found a C-177RG on the ramp. We both have fond memories of the CAP Flying Cardinal we flew ‘back in the day’
