KTIX – Titusville / Space Coast Executive
Well technically there isn’t a restaurant it KTIX any more, but Space Coast Executive Jet Center (SCEJC) is doing their best to help out. In fact they are located right next to the building that used to be the Outer Marker Cafe, one of my favorite lunch stops in the 90s.
There is no restaurant on the field but SCEJC has menus at the desk and several local restaurants use Uber Eats and Door Dash to deliver right to the FBO. We weren’t planning on staying that long but there were other amenities as you will see.
Free Soft Drinks and Snacks!

FBO Trend
I’m noticing more and more FBOs are starting to put in more pilot amenities. Million Air in KTLH also has a large, free, drink and snack bar. Maybe this is in response to the higher ramp fees we are paying in these inflation ridden days.
The Flight
PIREP
The cost ended up being less than $300 as it is such a short flight from KORL
- Aircraft Rental: 1.1 Hobbs * $270= $297.50
- Restaurant bill: none!
- ——-
- Total: right around $300 after fuel reimbursement and sales tax
- ——-
- Total flight time 1.6
KTIX is so close to KORL I really wish they had an on-field restaurant, but SCEJC is doing the next best thing at least. My flight club, Van Anda Aviation, was “removed” from Orlando Executive, so I have had to find some rentals. Premier Flight Service rents me a C-182T with the full G1000 suite, but as you might expect – it’s very expensive. The flight to KTIX is short though, took us about 15 minutes to fly there once we got airborne.
Jake Costello rode with me as I took up the Premier Aviation 182 for my 45 day insurance currency flight. This is something new to me. I am used to having to do 90 day touch and go’s, but insurance is getting more and more sticky each day.

Flight Home
A breeze. Took off runway 9, left downwind departure, called up MCO_APP and got sent right in to a downwind for Runway 7. Now all I need to do is find a cheaper airplane!
